A Few Words About Us
To work for a healthier world by educating citizens about their health, jobs, and livelihood options.
Goals
IRDRP would ensure that everybody has access to education and health healthcare services that are both accessible and secure. We also work to promote skills and opportunities for earning a living.
Mission
IRDRP’s mission is to improve the lives of underprivileged women, girls, the elderly, and the disabled by providing education, health, and sustainable livelihood skills and opportunities.
We help underprivileged children, youth, and women advance in life by providing them with relevant education, healthcare, and livelihood programs.
How We are different
With our combined expertise, we investigate the real situation of people in vulnerable situations through participatory research, need evaluation, and feasibility studies in order to jointly find a solution to their problems and circumstances.
A short recap of how we formed
Good Old Days
In 1989, Dr. Irudayasamy and two other Trustees committed to the welfare of the people established the Institute of Research and Development for the Rural Poor-Trust. It was dedicated to assisting the most needy members of society. IRDRP was founded under the Indian Trust Act, the Income Tax Act as a Charitable Organization, and the Income Tax Exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act. It is also registered under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act and is required to renew its registration on a regular basis.
Baby Steps
By networking globally and locally, IRDRP has established itself as a well-known organization in the NGOs market. Beneficiaries, public and private partners, donors, and volunteers are all involved in the implementation of IRDRP’s services and actions. Local donations, Corporate Social Response funds, and foreign funding are all accepted by the IRDRP.
Cause
The majority of the projects are located in rural areas. IRDRP plays a critical role in promoting Education, Health Awareness, WASH, and House and Toilet Building. In Tamilnadu, you can participate in a wide variety of events and projects.
Our ventures have also been assisting disaster victims in recent days, such as the Chennai 2015 Flood, where we focused on hard-to-reach communities such as Tribal and Irular communities. In Tamilnadu, we are now the first responders to every disaster. During the COVID 19 scenario, we provided groceries and WASH campaigns to 15000 people in need.
Through a volunteer team in Chengalpet District, we assisted and supported CORONA positives with the aid of the government.
IRDRP collaborates with local NGOs, government agencies, neighborhoods, and families on a regular basis.
